This post brought to you by the letter “O”
By Braden | March 17, 2008
The letter “O” (pronounced “O”) is a very versatile letter. It can be used in many words, from “awesome” to “blog” to “Dyneuxmite”. Let me give you a few examples:
Cove, rove, grove, stove, wove (”oh” sound)
Love, above, glove (”uh” sound)
Move (”oo” sound)
As you see here, by sheer willpower the O makes itself sound different even when using the same ending letters. Here are some more examples:
Choose (”oo”) Chose (”oh”)
Loose (”oo”) Lose (”oo” as well)
Good and book (cross between “oo” and “uh”)
Women (”ih” sound)
And finally, when sandwiching an “L” it does something supernatural, as in Colonel (”retarded” sound)
poop.
it had to be said
